The Third Team develops officials through structured education, on-field experience, and continuous evaluation.
We expect growth at every level — from first-year youth referees to experienced high school officials.
Training is not optional. Development is ongoing.
All new officials must:
Register with U.S. Soccer
Complete Grassroots certification
Attend a Third Team orientation meeting
Officiate initial matches under structured assignment
Early matches are developmental. We emphasize positioning, communication, and confidence.
